A Room of One's Own

Almost as much as fashion, I'm fascinated with interior design. I will be posting a few DIY decor ideas once I get my camera fixed. Check out Vogue's Most Wanted for some beautiful rooms, the above picture is the one I like most. You really don't need a lot of money to have a unique room or home, there are so many ways to be economical about design from market finds, garage sales and restoring old furniture yourself. Stay tuned for a few more ideas.

Staples

An outfit put together with some spring staples...but when will it be SUMMER? The general reception to these pants has been positive so I thought I'd throw this post in. Haven't had much time with exams...Wearing Forever 21 grey trousers, white Zara blazer, Wilfred lace tank and bandeau, Ralph Lauren stacked loafers and Ray Ban sunnies.

For night, it would have also worked to add a clutch and a different, less casual jacket (the white blazer perhaps...) What do you think?

When Chanel came out with their pleasantly sweet temporary tattoos this spring, they started cropping up everywhere. What a luxe little touch to an outfit, from Sarah Jessica Parker at the Oscars to everyday bloggers (and the beauty of not being stuck with them for a lifetime -although, by their look - I wouldn't mind). Little did I know that Chanel was popping up everywhere...from bikes, to fishing poles, surfboards, segweys, guitar cases and even...Medieval armor!

So, what do you think? Superfluous or fabulous? Would you, if you had the money to spend? Before you answer, think - how different are these items than Chanel clothes or accessories?

Exam Time

DO I EVEN NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY I WANT THESE? Jeffrey Campbell is just REALLY good at what he does. These booties, Exam (with studs) and Exam NS (without) are a bit pricey if you're on a budget, at around 170$, but how fantastic are they? They're a follow up to the Jeffrey Campbell Clinic boots that sold out everywhere....Someone needs to slap some sense into me before I pre-order them RIGHT NOW.

Sweet Stockholm

Next January, I'll be studying just north of Stockholm, Sweden for about 6 months. The fashion scene in Stockholm is certainly alive and I cannot wait to get there. Fur For Fall

As controversial as this may be, I love fur. Whether it's real or fake, it just adds luxe. Touches of fur are everywhere on Fall 2010 runways, from Chanel, Valentino and Fendi to Balenciaga, Derek Lam and Cavalli.

The thing is, for young women, a lot of fur can be tough to wear without coming off as stuffy. That's why fur as an accent to outwear really works for all ages. Another good thing, faux fur is so affordable! Try H&M, Club Monaco and Zara for some beautiful fur stoles and collars.

My Ex Closet

My friend from highschool started this really interesting website called MYEXCLOSET where you can buy and sell your "ex" clothes...things that are still wearable but you're just ready to move on from. Over the past few months she and her business partner have expanded from Toronto to Montreal to Vancouver with more cities to come.

Most of the pieces are really affordable and range from Betsey Johnson to Urban Outfitters to great vintage finds.
